Dunvegan Castle has been the stronghold of the Chiefs of MacLeod for
nearly 800 years and it remains their home. Built on a Rock once
surrounded entirely by salt water, it is unique in Scotland
as the only house of such antiquity to have retained its family throughout the centuries.
On the shores of Loch Harport, the village of Carbost is home to wonderfully powerful and
award winning Island malt bottled at above average strength.
Clan Donald Centre:
The Armadale Castle Gardens and Museum of the Isles is set in the
heart of a 20,000-acre Highland estate.
Skyeskyns, manufacturers and suppliers of finest quality sheepskins, is a family
business established on the Isle of Skye. in 1983.
The Croft Studio was founded by artist Daisy Budge who, as a young art student in
1932, first saw the Isle of Skyefrom the deck of the steam-ship Killarney,
and fell in love with the beautiful island.
The Bright Water Visitor Centre:
Based in Kyleakin on Skye, the centre covers topics including the flora and fauna
of the island, the lighthouse and local history (including stories recorded in Gaelic and English).
It is a highly interactive centre with lots to see and do for all ages.
