Fishing in August

Wonderful website!!

Myself and my family are visiting Skye for a week in August and staying in the Edinbane area. My daughter, who is 6, is named after the island wants to go fishing :) (Skye was a favorite holiday destination for my father as a child. He was from Glasgow)

Can anyone suggest some spots to spin cast and/or fly fish where taking a six year old to won't be too difficult. We would like to try casting into the sea and fly fishing of the bank of a river/loch.

Thx in advance!

Re: Fishing in August

Hi,

There is a lovely walk, not too long, from the rear of Greshornish House Hotel to Loch Dubaig, a sea loch. This is on the other side of the loch from Edinbane. There is ample scope for spinning in the sea in Dubaig and a lovely quiet spot for a picnic. There is also theRed Burn on the way to Greshornish.

There will likely be sea trout in the pool at the mouth in August. I don't know who has the fishing there but ask in the hotel.

There is also the fishing described in our web site. The Lochs are fly only, the rivers mostly so. .

Hope you find this helpful

Neil
