The Isle of Skye - rugged, beautiful, and an angler's paradise. Here, in the freshest of air, you can fish in complete solitude amongst some of the most spectacular scenery in Scotland. Portree Angling Association controls most of the angling in the North East of the Island of Skye, including the rights for the Storr Lochs, along with many rivers and other waters. There are Association boats on the Storr Lochs and these include a wheelie boat for disabled access.
The Isle of Skye is a great location for salmon and trout fishing and its mainly spate rivers attract anglers from all over the country. Portree Angling Association has access to beats on the Snizort, Lealt, Kilmartin, Ose, Amer, Kilmaluag and Brogaig rivers and salmon and sea trout catches in 2008 were very encouraging.
The season runs from early spring until mid October and whilst fair means can be used on some rivers, the fly is the preferred method of fishing.
We look forward to seeing you, rod in hand, enjoying the best of fishing.
